IMBUE
Music shaped by the hands that keep choosing
After seven years, Kohki returns with a new mini album arranged entirely with a live band.
The central theme of IMBUE is hands.
Hands that never stop moving.
Receiving. Giving. Creating. Protecting.
And continuing to choose.
This album captures Kohki present moment, shaped by the experiences his hands have touched along the way.
Connections, distance, and rediscovery are woven into songs that feel both personal and universal.
One track was born while Kohki was painting a mural in Tokyo, where simple exchanges of welcome home brought back memories of his hometown in Wakayama.
A grandmothers voice calling welcome home across rice fields after school became the starting point for the song.
Another track began not with lyrics or melody, but with a single painting.
For the first time, Kohki created a song directly from visual art, exploring how life is shaped through mutual encounters and the memories our hands carry.
Throughout the album, themes of memory, choice, and human connection quietly unfold.
Acoustic textures meet soulful grooves, grounded in the warmth and presence of a live band arrangement.
The album artwork is an original illustration by Kohki under his art alias mitsutaka.
Self produced, IMBUE is a love letter written with sound, voice, and color.
For anyone living and choosing in this moment.
