Tokaido Night Journey - Station 2
"Moon over Rokugō Ferry ~Rokugō Ferry Crossing~"
Leaving Nihonbashi behind, travelers arrive at the Rokugō River, the first great river along the Tokaido.
Lanterns shimmer across the water as the full moon reflects on the quiet current. Waiting at the riverside is a mysterious karakuri ferry, powered by steam, turning gears, and imagination.
The rhythmic pulse of its engine, the silhouette of Mount Fuji beneath the moonlight, and the gentle flow of the river transform this historic crossing into an unforgettable nighttime journey.
Inspired by Hiroshige's iconic ukiyo-e print Kawasaki: Rokugō Ferry, this track blends the beauty of Edo Japan with the imaginative world of Edo LOFI.
Dusty Boom-Bap rhythms, koto, shamisen, and the sounds of the river come together to create a cinematic night drive across the Tokaido.
Step aboard the Karakuri Ferry.
The night journey has only just begun.
Liminal Reverie is an instrumental music project centered on the theme between reality and dreams. Between day and night. After the crowds fade away. Moments where reality and dreams have not yet fully separated. Liminal Reverie turns the lingering presence, afterglow, and quiet atmosphere of those moments into sound. The project is built on two complementary musical axes: Japanese side: Edo Lofi Western side: Liminal Reverie Each explores a different world, while sharing the same sense of liminality.
