I am the rain the fire and the ash
Hear the birds they call my name
Through the mud
It feels like home
I am the tree the river and the breeze
Green whispers in a world unseen
It's always near
Sand and clay
Silt and stone
Each one alone
But together they cradle all
We’ve ever known
I am the joy
I am the pain
My sphere
Dust to cradle
Cradle to soil
It shows the way
Sand and clay
Silt and stone
Each one alone
But together they cradle all
We’ve ever known
Rivers carve her flowing veins
Skies are painted with her rains
She hums in the stones
She sings in the trees

Artist Profile
sphere
Formed in 2007 by guitarist Makoto Gomi, the group took a break after releasing its third album in 2011, but resumed its activities in 2022 with the release of its fourth album after 11 years, featuring Shoko Inoue as a new vocalist. Based on a shoegaze sound filled with guitars that combine delicacy and exuberance, the progressive rhythmic approach and nostalgic piano melodies that evoke Scandinavian electronica are intertwined with a meticulously calculated sound image, and the innocent breathy voice of Shoko is layered to create a lyrical soundscape.
