The Weak's Banquet

YOU'LL MELT MORE

I am IでYou are YouでWe are Weです

いかんぜWe Are 弱者

Artist Profile

  • YOU'LL MELT MORE

A hero who sings to save humanity through music. Former freelance music writer Taichi Take, moved by the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake, resolved to save more people through the power of music. He formed the group in October 2012 with members scouted on the streets. Adopting the concept of loosening up a rigid world, they named themselves You'll Melt More!. You'll Melt More!'s You'll Melt also carries the meaning of loosening up in Japanese sound, creating a double meaning with Melt More. Their gentle lyrics, including messages like It's okay to run away when things get tough, offer comfort to those struggling with pain and hardship. Their sound, rooted in new wave and incorporating EDM, electro, krautrock, shoegazer, hardcore, punk rock, hip-hop, electro-clash, ambient, techno, indie pop, and more. They've released over 130 songs to date. Their album covers, paying a respectful homage to Neu!, ESG, Weezer, Gang of Four, DEVO, Kaoru Abe and Masayuki Takayanagi, SUICIDE, Belle and Sebastian, Prince, HAPPY MONDAYS, DRAGON BALL, Daft Punk, Kraftwerk, The Specials, Primal Scream, Talking Heads, and Sekiri, have also drawn attention. Collaborators include POLYSICS, Wienners, DOTAMA, Ryujin Kiyoshi, Ken Kamikita, Nakako (ex. SUPERCAR), Mariko Goto, Yabai T-shirts yasan, Shinsei Kamattechan, Hysteric Panic, Guitar Wolf, MIYAVI, Kishidan, Seiko Ohmori, Sunday Kamide, Mio Yamazaki, R-Shitei, Akira Sakata, Hikashu, Hijou Kaidan, cinema staff, URBANGARDE, Deerhoof, of Montreal, Painted Palms, YOKKO, Buffalo Daughter, Shonen Knife, GEZAN, ATARASHII GAKKO!, Otoboke Beaver, Vampillia, downt, Mop of Head, VOLA & THE ORIENTAL MACHINE, DE DE MOUSE, UHNELLYS, King Gnu, The50kaitenz, Homecomings, MOWMOW LULU GYABAN, Wednesday Campanella, Dora Video, and more. Former member Ano-chan broke through with the theme song for Chainsaw Man and has since become a national star. In 2015, their starring film Girls, Dance with the Dead was released nationwide and officially screened at the Yubari International Fantastic Film Festival. From April 2016, they appeared regularly on TV Tokyo's Hobo Hobo. During a live show in Italy, Eurobeat legend Dave Rodgers happened to be in the audience. He fell in love with their song Zombie Dance and offered to remix it, which came to fruition. In Taiwan, they performed at major festivals like Wake Up Festival and Emerge Fest. The current members are Nani, Nerun, Heso, Meari, Raki, and Makoto.
