The night was long. The stars were bright
We wrote a word. The word was light
Kai was walking. Bird was singing
The same old world, but something was new
We found a flight in the golden morning
"By the way," said Bird, "I was waiting for you."
We were excited. We were ready
Actually, we were a little afraid
The airport lights were gold and steady
This was the road our words had made
Words are power. Words are light
We were small, but we were brave
Soon we will arrive. A new world in sight
Every word we found, every word we gave
Mina was writing in her little book
"I was here before," she said, "in a dream."
The clouds were soft. The sea below was gold
We were flying higher than we'd ever been
Below us was a city of many tongues —
A wall of sound, a painting made of words
We were surprised. We were home and far from home
"Language," Bird said, "was never just one bird's."
Words are power. Words are light
We were ready for a wider day
Soon we will land. The golden world in sight
Every word was waiting. Every word would stay
The night was long… but morning came
Words are light

Sentanbun - Movement 2: Words Will Fly
KYOKASHO RECORDS
WORD WORLD (Uta-tan) Disc 2 "Grade 8"
An album where every word and grammar point from the junior-high English textbook becomes a lyric. Built around Japan's NEW HORIZON 2 curriculum, with cross-reference tables for other major textbooks on every track page.
All 12 songs continue the story from Disc 1: Kai, his companion Bird, and Mina leave the English-only world behind and set out for a city where many languages are spoken at once. Grade-8 grammar - past tense, past progressive, through to the passive voice - unfolds naturally through their journey.
Track 13, "Sentanbun (Movement 2)," is a bonus track that packs all 485 words of the second-year vocabulary list into a single six-minute song. Across all three grades, the trilogy covers Japan's full 1,486-word junior-high vocabulary in about 19 minutes total.
