Tick — tock. The tower bell rings the hour
"Sit down," said the old clockmaker. "Long ago…"
Long ago, people lived without a clock
Ancient Egyptians put a stick in the ground
They read its shadow, they told time by the sun —
But at night, the shadow made no sound
So they made a pot with a hole — drip, drip
The water decreased, line by line
Some of them burned a candle with a mark —
The fire measured the passing time
Little by little, night by night
People gave their effort to hold the light
Every invention began with a why —
Words and wheels, improving as they carry us by
Words are power. Words are light
Then came a mechanical clock — a heavy weight
Moved the wheels with a hidden power inside
A bell rang the hours. The towns learned to wait
Eventually, every pocket had time to hide
"What type of result is time?" asked Kai. "A number?"
The old man smiled. "It is wisdom. It is technology
It is every idea we recognized in wonder —
The effort of people you will never see."
Little by little, age by age
Someone gave their life to turn the page
It is time to thank them — say it twice
Every tick you hear was someone's sacrifice
Words are power. Words are light
Tick — tock. The shadow moves. The water drips
The candle burns. Words are light

Sentanbun - Movement 2: Words Will Fly
KYOKASHO RECORDS
WORD WORLD (Uta-tan) Disc 2 "Grade 8"
An album where every word and grammar point from the junior-high English textbook becomes a lyric. Built around Japan's NEW HORIZON 2 curriculum, with cross-reference tables for other major textbooks on every track page.
All 12 songs continue the story from Disc 1: Kai, his companion Bird, and Mina leave the English-only world behind and set out for a city where many languages are spoken at once. Grade-8 grammar - past tense, past progressive, through to the passive voice - unfolds naturally through their journey.
Track 13, "Sentanbun (Movement 2)," is a bonus track that packs all 485 words of the second-year vocabulary list into a single six-minute song. Across all three grades, the trilogy covers Japan's full 1,486-word junior-high vocabulary in about 19 minutes total.
