Lyric

Keawta Lam Phloen

Keawta Prayalae

Verse 1:

Tonight's stage is filled with the long, beautiful sound of the cane

My heart is aching for you

I'm in love with you

Then the curtain rises on the stage

When I look in

What a dazzling sight (Repeat)

It's you, isn't it? I'll stretch my neck and kiss your cheek (Repeat)

Hook 1:

It's you

Beautiful and meaningful man (Repeat)

Please

I'm single, I'm lonely

It is the fate of lowly molam

I have met you (Repeat)

A beautiful, cool man

Beautiful in every way (Repeat)

Do you have a lover

Or is there someone you’re hiding from?

You're a horrible person who doesn't even look at me

Will you be my lover?

I know my status will be looked at twice

I know I'll be rejected

If only we could sleep side by side

I would hold you tightly in my mosquito net

I'll even repel mosquitoes if you like (Repeat)

If you still don't want this, what can I do?

Verse 2:

I'll never fall in love with anyone else than you

My love is for real (Repeat)

I put my hopes in you

I want a relationship, I want to give my love to you (Repeat)

Don't disobey my feelings

Let's take the two of us and do ramwong

Don't just stand there (Repeat)

Please, let's do ramwong together (Repeat)

Hook 2:

Singing of the moon (Repeat)

A rumbling melody

My heart is sinking (Repeat)

I can't forget you

When the sky is gray

My heart grows lonely

I want to stop mourning and follow you home

Please leave me alone (Repeat)

Even if you have a mistress, don't forget me

I will do everything for you

Don't worry about the gold coins or the wedding money

Money is not important to me

If you have feelings for me, you're always welcome

If that's all right (Repeat)

Please come to my parents' house

Take the national highway to Chaiyaphum Province

To Ban Nong Takai

Ask people for directions

From Nong Sa-at town (Tambon Non Sa-at)

Enter Khon Sawan District and go to Ban Khwao District

This is me, a descendant of Phraya Lae (Repeat) (*)

I do not incline my feelings to anyone

I think only of you, cool guy

Now, if you'll excuse me while I go to

* Footonotes:

Praya Lae is the common name of Praya Pukdee Chumphol, the founder of Chaiyaphum Province. The people of Chaiyaphum Province sometimes refer to themselves as Praya Lae's descendants out of respect, which also implies that they were born in Chaiyaphum

EM Records again shines the spotlight on legendary Thai producer Surin Phaksiri in this second edition of his classic productions from the 1960s-80s. The first edition, released in 2019, focused on his innovative productions in the luk thung style. This 2022 release features his stellar, glowing molam gems from the 60s-80s, drawn mainly from his golden era in the late 70s and early 80s. Surin Phaksiri is a highly esteemed figure in Thai music, rooted deeply in his native region of Isan in northeast Thailand, a producer with a deep respect for the traditional artistry of his culture, yet always moving forward, looking outward, listening ahead. The molam style of Thai music showcases the voice; indeed, the genre's name means "expert singer", and Thailand is blessed with an abundance of experts, singers with amazing control, grace, vitality and finesse. This collection of 22 songs features 15 singers, ranging from venerated legends to unjustly unheralded masters of the art. These songs were recorded and released after the era of the 7-inch single; with the advent of the cassette boom in Thai music, most producers adopted a quantity-over-quality conveyer belt production style, churning out soundalike material to fill the expanded length of cassette tape. Phaksiri resisted these tides and continued to work with a single-song mindset, tailoring each production's instrumentation and arrangement to precisely fit each singer and song. This care and integrity can be clearly heard in this sweetly groovy collection. These gems, originally released on 7-inch vinyl, are all first-time official reissues, a project years in the making. Compiled by Soi48, who also provide liner notes.
