Lyric

Lam Phloen Sakhon Na Khon

Banyen Siwongsa

Verse 1:

You

Listen to me, brother

You are as beautiful as your name

I want to see you every day and have dinner with you

I don't have the courage to step out because I'm afraid you'll hate me

I've been so heartbroken that my heart rots

I still have scars on my heart

Because of the man who cheated on me

Bridge:

My hopes were not fulfilled

Because I had met a man who was not faithful

How dare you cheat on a woman?

Is this what a dirty man loves?

"I love no one but you"

That's the usual pick-up line of the Sakon Nakhon man

It would be doting

Hook 1:

I don't have any contacts right now

I'm here to ask all of you, my customers, in person

I have a mental illness

I'm looking for someone to help me heal

Will the Sakon Nakhon boys listen to me?

Including everyone in the village

Verse 2:

What about poor me?

Can you accept me without hating molam girls?

I'm singing and praying (Repeat)

To the angel of Sakon Nakhon

Praying to Phra That Dum Temple

Please help me

I also pray to Phra That Phu Pek Temple

To the people of Sakon Nakhon, please give me happiness

Hook 2:

I don't know when it will come true, but I've made a wish

I was staring at the stars in front of me

And I'm headed to Phang Khon District

Then I went to Kusuman District, Ban Non Village and walked desperately

I was looking for a man to help me (Repeat)

In Akat Amnuai District and Kut Bak District, I was looking for emotional healing

Verse 3:

I was giddy, looking for a lover

In Sawang Daen Din District, I was feeling rough

I turned back to Phanna Nikhom Distric

I went to Song Dao District and there was not a single person there

No one felt sorry for me when I fainted

Hook 3:

I still can't find a partner now (Repeat)

In Tao Ngoi District and in Kham Ta Kla District

I feel like I'm going crazy

Is there anyone here who can be my lover? (Repeatedly)

To Waritchaphum District

I go to Nikhom Nam Un District

I can't see you

Again, back to Sakon Nakhon town

I was almost craving and out of breath (Repeat)

I couldn't help myself, so I asked for another reading

Gaining momentum, I went to a crowded place (Repeat)

Even though I went to visit Phra That Choeng Chum temple and Lord Narayana

My wish was not fulfilled (Repeat)

EM Records again shines the spotlight on legendary Thai producer Surin Phaksiri in this second edition of his classic productions from the 1960s-80s. The first edition, released in 2019, focused on his innovative productions in the luk thung style. This 2022 release features his stellar, glowing molam gems from the 60s-80s, drawn mainly from his golden era in the late 70s and early 80s. Surin Phaksiri is a highly esteemed figure in Thai music, rooted deeply in his native region of Isan in northeast Thailand, a producer with a deep respect for the traditional artistry of his culture, yet always moving forward, looking outward, listening ahead. The molam style of Thai music showcases the voice; indeed, the genre's name means "expert singer", and Thailand is blessed with an abundance of experts, singers with amazing control, grace, vitality and finesse. This collection of 22 songs features 15 singers, ranging from venerated legends to unjustly unheralded masters of the art. These songs were recorded and released after the era of the 7-inch single; with the advent of the cassette boom in Thai music, most producers adopted a quantity-over-quality conveyer belt production style, churning out soundalike material to fill the expanded length of cassette tape. Phaksiri resisted these tides and continued to work with a single-song mindset, tailoring each production's instrumentation and arrangement to precisely fit each singer and song. This care and integrity can be clearly heard in this sweetly groovy collection. These gems, originally released on 7-inch vinyl, are all first-time official reissues, a project years in the making. Compiled by Soi48, who also provide liner notes.
