2025年12月に結成、東京を拠点に活動するバンド GIRLFRIENDZ（ガールフレンズ） が、5thシングル 「Asleep With Me（アスリープ・ウィズ・ミー）」 を2026年7月24日（金）0:00より配信リリース。
ゲームサウンドクリエイターとしても知られるスペイン人プロデューサー・ソングライターMiguelの真骨頂とも言える、煌めくシンセポップである。
CHVRCHES、Let's Eat Grandma、Lyncsをはじめ、『Cyberpunk 2077』のサウンドトラックとして知られる I Really Want to Stay at Your House（Rosa Walton & Hallie Coggins）からも影響を受けた本作は、現代的なインディー・シンセポップに、きらめくヴィンテージシンセ、温かみのあるエレクトロニック・サウンドを融合。本作より加わったギタリスト、Raphael Carpenterによる空間的なギターサウンドデザインも必聴だ。The Cranberriesの『Dreams』を彷彿とさせる儚くも力強いメロディと、ボーカル・Mayu "Angel" Babyの儚いウィスパーボイスが聴く者に夢の余韻を残していく。
楽曲のコンセプトは、新しい恋が少しずつ「帰る場所」のような存在へと変わっていく瞬間を描くこと。つまらないリアリティ番組を流しっぱなしにした部屋、外で分け合うポテトチップス、充電が切れそうなスマートフォン、眠気混じりの会話、半分閉じた目のまま交わすキス。まだ自分でも認めたくない恋心に戸惑う小さな不安。
派手なドラマではなく、誰かと過ごすありふれた夜や、眠る前の静かな幸福感。その小さな景色を映画のワンシーンのように切り取った「Asleep With Me」は、GIRLFRIENDZが持つ繊細なソングライティングとシンセポップ・サウンドの魅力を象徴する作品となっている。

GIRLFRIENDZ
GIRLFRIENDZは、2025年12月に結成された東京を拠点に活動するバンド。 「Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain」などのサウンドクリエイションで知られる、スペイン出身のプロデューサー・Miguel De Diego Blancoをきっかけに結成。 Miguelならではの多様な音楽性により、インディ的な質感とメインストリームのアンセム感を自在に行き来し、楽曲はまるで物語を内包した映像作品のように展開されていく。“これまでかっこいいとされてきたもの”への愛を確かに持ちながらも、そこに安住することなく、一度ピリオドを打ち、新しいバイヴスへと変換する。 2026年1月、結成からわずか1ヶ月で1stシングル「Tonight」をリリースしてから、翌2月には2ndシングル「D.M.I.S.」、3月には EijiHarrisonによるリミックス「D.M.I.S. (Not So Serious Remix」、4月には3rdシングル「Romanticising The Almost」を発表。以降も毎月リリースを続けている。 今、最も注目されるアップカミングなバンドのひとつである。
