02 Xindu People
A state is further away than a romance
A square is further away than a dance
A flag is further away than a landscape
But a garden is the furthest
It is still early
Who would know that water plants are going to fall from the sky?
Young people are talking to each other devotedly in the garden
Only you are stuck on the meters, briefly
The others are on a demonstration
Crying out ‘indulgence is a form of honesty’
While some put their hands up for white lies
And some dictate to enforce a monotonous beauty
Your justice is torturing me to death
In the far away garden, I live much better
Young people talk to each other devotedly in that garden
Young people fall asleep, embracing stones
We should, like we used to, leave conclusions
To the conversation that will not happen again

Hiperson
Hiperson is past its growing pains. The five-piece rock band has been through numerous cy-cles of growth over its 8 years of existence, expanding in sonic breadth and lyrical depth, re-fining its craft over two universally applauded studio albums, a 2019 EP for London imprint Damnably, and pulse-raising live performances across dozens of cities in China and Europe. As indie rock resurges as a mainstream cultural force in China, Hiperson refuses to cash in on the trend, refuses to veer from the difficult line they walk between the immediacy of gut-punch punk rock and the elastic, emotive sensibilities baked into their arrangements. As ever, the aphoristic wisdom of lyricist and singer Chen Sijiang leads the listener to the edge of danger, through landscapes of cold reality, oscillating between daily life and illusion.
Hiperson is set to release its third studio album, Bildungsroman, this summer. Recorded in the legendary Hansa Studios in Berlin, Bildungsroman sees Hiperson at their best and most pro-found, a band stretching into its skin, confidently raising its multitudinous and profound voice.
