Happy Times Always Pass Fast

Hiperson

10 Happy Times Always Pass Fast

Isn’t it dusk?

The background of the jokes

Look, isn’t it dusk?

What’s behind your curtains

Happy times

Always pass fast

    Happy Times Always Pass Fast

    Hiperson

Hiperson is past its growing pains. The five-piece rock band has been through numerous cy-cles of growth over its 8 years of existence, expanding in sonic breadth and lyrical depth, re-fining its craft over two universally applauded studio albums, a 2019 EP for London imprint Damnably, and pulse-raising live performances across dozens of cities in China and Europe. As indie rock resurges as a mainstream cultural force in China, Hiperson refuses to cash in on the trend, refuses to veer from the difficult line they walk between the immediacy of gut-punch punk rock and the elastic, emotive sensibilities baked into their arrangements. As ever, the aphoristic wisdom of lyricist and singer Chen Sijiang leads the listener to the edge of danger, through landscapes of cold reality, oscillating between daily life and illusion.

Hiperson is set to release its third studio album, Bildungsroman, this summer. Recorded in the legendary Hansa Studios in Berlin, Bildungsroman sees Hiperson at their best and most pro-found, a band stretching into its skin, confidently raising its multitudinous and profound voice.
